How did this all begin?

These days, it is common for people – including myself - to revolve their lives around their mobile phones, iPads, computers, laptops, or high-end gadgets.  We spend our time searching the internet more than we watch tv or read books.  I remember years ago, before I had my first mobile phone, how gathering information was so different…and difficult.  I had to either drive my car somewhere or use my home phone to get what I needed.  Now, with the touch of a button or the downloading of an app, I can get what I need in seconds!

I realized earlier this year how much I was caught up in this technological revolution.  I spend a lot of my time online, whether it’s for leisure, work, or convenience.  This motivated me to journey into the world of writing…or online blogging.  This interest sparked ideas of how I can share the things that I want to do or love to do, particularly when it relates to handmade crafts.  Writing about my crafts seemed like the perfect starting point since this comes naturally to me.  I realized that there is an entire community of “crafters” who enjoy the same things that I do and I wanted to reach out to this community that I am so fond of.

There have been many times when I have stumbled across websites that inspire ideas and motivate me to come up with new projects.  As I made my crafts, I discovered that I didn’t have my own platform to share what I was doing.  I wanted to find a way to share my creations, especially with people that had the same interests as me.  I can create a handful of crafts, but, if I don’t post them anywhere online, then no one will know what I am passionate about doing.  Creating this website was a way to share fun ideas, to motive others, and to post projects.

I also want to share my technical skills to teach others new ways to craft…or to teach those who are new to crafting and want to learn the basics.  My technical skills are all self-taught.  I haven’t taken any professional courses, but I taught myself by practicing until I was satisfied with the outcome.  What I have enjoyed the most is playing with different textiles, materials, and techniques so that I am constantly learning.  I don’t move on until I feel comfortable with my new skill.  As you follow me through my blogging, you will see what new skills I have learned or how I have been able to enhance previous skills.  You and I will be learning together!

My blogging isn’t perfect, but it will be something that I pour my heart into.  Since I am at the beginning stage of this website, you will see many changes as I come across new ideas.  And, as I review and share other websites, projects, and products, I will be honest with my experiences and outcomes.  Please remember that what works for me may not work for everyone, but we will never know until we try!

Welcome aboard!

I ADMIT IT! I ADMIT IT! My phone is one of my best friends, LMFAO – cause all of my best friends are on it! 😉 It distracts me when I am doing cardio too, and not many people/things can do that!!

I am totally addicted to blogging! Although, on a separate blog I did a post about how to make a card and it was not popular 🙁

Good to know you’re on it too! The card only needs more promotion, it is impossible for there are many people in the planet to appreciate it believe me. 🙂

It is a great idea! I also feel invaded by technology sometimes. It is a huge advantage to me but sometimes is to invasive. I am not a crafter, but I do nail art (which is actually a manual and creative activity as well!) I blog about that!
